In the Summer of 2019, Verge Pipe Media will unofficially be nine years young. That feels like an eternity some days, and a blink of any eye on other days. Starting and building a marketing agency is akin to rearing children - the days are long, the years are short.
It hasn't always worked according to plan. Truthfully, it hasn't always had a plan. However, when things started coming together as a blog originally begun as a creative outlet, I confidently knew how I wanted the world to see us - a tight-knit organization, where everyone knew why they were coming to work every day and what success looked like when they went home.
Based on the compliments some of our clients have paid us over the years, I feel like the culture code at Verge Pipe Media is working (NOTE: I did not say successful, because culture has to be built every single day).
"With so many student interns coming and going, it's amazing how you all continue to produce quality work."
"I'm just in love with the culture you've created."
"I don't know how you do it. Millennials wear me out. You seem to have them figured out."
Maybe I've been more reflective recently, or maybe the shift to almost 100% video content is the reason, but our Creative Director encouraged me to document our core values and how that relates to the culture I work on daily here at VPM. Thankfully, we shot this in almost one take because well, it's Auburn, Alabama, it's the summer, and it's hot.
