Pups and Brews: Not a Super (Bowl) Surprise
**Disclaimer: I AM NOT A BRONCOS OR SEAHAWKS FAN.
We all know that this year’s Super Bowl game was far from suspenseful or captivating. For me, the best play happened in the first 10 seconds, and then chips and salsa were my entertainment for the rest of the night. That being said, I was solely looking forward to the (previously anticipated) funny, clever, high-quality commercials after Percy Harvin opened the second half with an 87-yard kickoff return.
However, how was I supposed to look forward to seeing the commercials when I had already seen more than one third of them online. That’s right people; this year there was a shocking amount of SUPER BOWL AD TEASERS!
A New Jersey native myself, I receive many updates about my lovely state. Most frequently, they come from http://www.nj.com. This is where I previewed the most Super Bowl ads, being that it was played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. From this website alone, I was able to preview 31 ads!
I honestly think that being able to watch these teasers put a damper on my Super Bowl viewing experience. Don’t get me wrong; they were great ads that most viewers loved.
But next year…can we keep the beer and puppies a surprise so I can justify watching teams (that I am not even a fan of) play in the most watched television broadcast in the country?
