Smartphone users rejoiced yesterday as the new Vine update was revealed. Now users don’t have to fret over their videos being perfect on the first shot because Vine has introduced editing tools, multiple drafts and a feature called ‘Time Travel’ to the app that is making the creation of these 6 second videos easier than ever.
The ‘Time Travel’ aspect of the app lets you edit videos. ‘Time Travel’ allows users to go back in time in your Vine video so you can remove, reorganize or replace any shot within the post at any time. In ‘Time Travel’ you simply tap the green bar that shows you’re recording or push edit when you preview the post. Another new feature of the app is that it is now possible for users to work on up to 10 different Vine ‘sessions’ at any one time and go to their main feed to browse without losing their recorded video. The update is available for both iPhone and Android.
According to Vine’s official blog post describes the app by saying: “Vine was built for one purpose: to make it easy for people to capture life in motion and share it with the world. That is the reason we built the Vine camera, and it’s why we continue to improve upon and build new tools for your creations, nurturing the balance between power and simplicity that you’ve come to expect from us.”
The last Vine update came in early July and was a counter attack against Instagram’s introduction of their Instagram Video. While Vine still does not allow users to upload pre-recorded video like Instagram Video does, the new editing features does put Vine in the forefront. With this new video editing and Time Travel feature on Vine many are wondering what Instagram will do to keep up?
