This week Verge Pipe Media hosted a launch party for two separate student survey groups we’ve partnered with to celebrate the completion of their surveys and the beginning of the survey distribution. These survey groups consist of public relations students from Auburn University who are creating and conducting the surveys not only for Verge Pipe Media, but also for a hands on project in their Survey and Research Methods class.
The first survey group is conductinga survey on wearable technology. This group is targeting young professionals and students through emails, interviews and social media in order to find out what kind of wearable technology people are willing to wear, how often they would use it and how they feel about communicating through wearable technology.
The second survey group's mission is to conduct a survey about smart phone and tablet use in the health care industry. This group is targeting physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals in order to find out who is using smart phones, how often they use these smart phones and tablets and what they are using smart phones and tablets for in the health care realm. The second survey group is also to figure out if health care professionals have utilized social media to connect with patients.
The party was held on Wednesday night and the fun and food filled affair was one to remember. Kevin Flannagan showcased his musical talents playing guitar all night; sadly for Don there were no covers of Pink’s songs. We dined on Willie’s Wings and pizza, drank beer and wine and relaxed with good company for the night. Our party was a great success and we look forward to the survey groups projects and reading their results about wearable technology and technology in healthcare.
