Buzzfeed is a platform for news and entertainment. It generates more than 6 billion views each month. It has become immensely popular among people of all ages. Millennials account for a large portion of the views. Why is this global network so appealing to them? What are they doing right? I will explain a few features that gives them a massive appeal.

Digital Media

Buzzfeed has an unlimited amount of videos on their site. People can find DIY's to an informational flick about politics. They also provide various videos for whatever mood you may be in. There's cute puppy videos to pass the time and videos of President Obama showing how easy it is to vote. Millennials have turned more to digital media for information instead of print.

Buzzfeed's Style

The authors' writing style is very relaxed and humorous. Yet, they are still able to keep their site professional without coming off as a gossip column. Users view the material as relatable and readable. Their articles aren't boringly formal or sloppily written. This allows the site to keep the attention of their readers/viewers.

Interacting with your audience is a very attractive quality. The site provides quizzes for their viewers to take and a Buzzfeed Community. You can make your very own quiz for other users to take. Millennials love to feel as though they are truly apart of something fun, new, and refreshing. In the community section, you are able to make a post! If editors like your post, then they will publish it on the site!

Millennials are the driving force behind many of the changes social media sites has made. They want to appeal to this large audience which makes them create new, interacive, and fun ways to express yourself. Buzzfeed has been able to nearly perfect this technique making their appeal to grow exponentially.
