Social Media Management during a Fund Raising Campaign

Utilizing social media management during a fund raising campaign can greatly expand awareness of the campaign as well as increase the overall amount of money raised. 

The first step is to think about the campaign and come up with fund raising goals. While this does not directly tie into using social media, understanding the goals for the campaign will help when coming up with things to post on social media. Also, consider your target audience. What group of people are most likely to respond to the campaign and dive head first into fundraising? Those are the people you need to target through social media so you can make sure to get the maximum amount of donations possible.

Next, you need to make sure your message is customized to your campaign, it is engaging and it is different. Do not use the same message across every platform. For example, Instagram is focused on pictures and imagery, so use something that really shows what your campaign is all about .Twitter has a limited amount of characters, so make sure you choose the right words to accurately sum up your mission. Experiment with different kinds of posts, such as videos. People appreciate variety, and this will definitely attract more viewers to your campaign's social media channels.

One of the most important parts of social media for fund raising is including a call to action on your pages. Most likely, by the time they get to the call to action, they are interested and want to help. Make sure to make it easy for them by including a "click to donate" or a "spread the word" button. This will ensure even more people see your efforts.
